A Movement to Eliminate Hazing


PHI BETA SIGMA fraternity, in cooperation with the National Action Network, is leading an aggressive anti-hazing campaign intended to eradicate the culture of hazing from Black Greek-letter organizations and the broader community at large.

By combining a heavy media campaign, collaborations with elected officials to push for federal anti-hazing legislation, and implementation of educational training and awareness programs at high schools, colleges and civic organizations, the goal is to end the culture of hazing that leads to the injury and death of scores of people each year. Bro. Wesley T. Carter 1907-2012

Brother Wesley T. Carter, Sr. recognized as the oldest living and active member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012 at 4:00 AM. On February 28, 2012, Brother Carter celebrated his 85th anniversary as a member of our fraternity. He was initiated into Sigma through the Lambda chapter at Virginia Union University (VUU). Bro. Carter was completely self-sufficient, still attending chapter, state and national meetings until his transition into the Omega chapter.
